This cinnamon roll French toast recipe is the ultimate breakfast treat! Soft, custard-soaked brioche slices are cooked to golden perfection, swirled with cinnamon sugar, and topped with sweet icing. A perfect mix of French toast and cinnamon rolls!


Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

    For the Cinnamon Swirl:

    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • 1 tbsp cinnamon
    • 2 tbsp melted butter

    For the Icing:

    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tbsp milk
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  2. Heat a buttered skillet over medium heat.
  3. Dip each slice of brioche into the custard for 10 seconds per side.
  4. Cook on the skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. While hot, drizzle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over the French toast.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

  • Use day-old brioche for the best texture.
  • If you like a stronger cinnamon flavor, add an extra teaspoon to the custard.
